The
Position:
CIP is seeking to recruit two dynamic and experienced Drivers for the Rwanda
country office. The positions will be based in Kigali, Rwanda. CIP in Rwanda is
hosted by the International Centre for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) http://www.ciat.cgiar.org.

Specific
duties will include:
· Drive CIP vehicle
· Ensure maintenance of CIP vehicle fleet as per the set
standards in regard to service condition
· Cleanliness and reporting accidents/incidents and defects
promptly. Adhere to CIP’s vehicle management policy and comply with rules and guidelines
of the institute, including good logbook keeping,
· Responsible for the safety and security of the vehicle
assigned at all locations including during travel
· Messenger duties
· Assist with office duties such as filing, clerical duties, photocopying
· Experience driving in the rural areas and working with
farmers
· The driver will also be involved in field activities as
directed by project managers and field staff
· Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

· The candidate should have an advanced level certificate as
a minimum, a higher qualification will be an added advantage
· Driver’s license class B, C or higher and a certificate of
good conduct
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience driving 4 X 4 in rough
terrains
· Good communication and interpersonal skills and ability to exercise
initiative and reasonable judgement
· Basic mechanical skills
· Willingness to work extra hours and on weekends if
circumstances require
· Fluent in spoken and written English and Kinyarwanda.
· Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
· Computer literate in Word and Excel – an added advantage

Terms
of offer:
These are Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) positions. Employment contracts will
be for a two year term (with a three months’ probation period) with the
possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of
