Country Office seeks to hire a qualified, committed and experienced national to
fill the following position;

Logistics
Officer
This
is a Grade 4 position.
PURPOSE
OF POSITION:
As
a member of the field office management team in Kirehe, the Logistics Officer
responsibility for spearheading Logistics matters of the Field Office
(FO).  The Logistics Officer in his/her capacity will be accountable for
the provision of effective HR and administration services in both emergencies
and development programming contexts at the field office level.
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Logistics
Support
  • Support
    the field office with logistics requests as guided by the Country
    Logistics Manager and Field Office Manager
  • Ensure
    that Save the Children minimum standards and logistics policies are
    implemented and adhered to in the field office and that the requirements
    of the donor are also adhered to.
  • Provide
    advice and support to the programme on logistics whilst providing timely
    reports including Weekly Procurement Tracker and Monthly KPI reporting
  • Ensure
    systems in place to monitor pipeline and procurement expenditure on a
    monthly basis and finance monthly payment projections
  • Carry
    out any required procurement, including Emergency Procurement, in
    compliance with SCI Standard guidelines, procedures and forms (Purchase
    Orders, Goods Received Notes, etc.)
  • Tracking
    of all vehicles on the fleet, including movement planning and day-to-day
    allocation.
  • Manage,
    maintain and ensure repair of vehicles in safe and efficient work order.
  • Ensure
    that vehicles are checked on a daily basis, and liaise with the Country
    Logistics Manager to ensure that regular service and maintenance is
    carried out.
  • Ensure
    vehicles have current meeting all safety and security requirements and
    lawful documentation including comprehensive insurance and registration.
Receive
travel requests, and maintain trip schedules and Staff Movement
JOB
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Degree
    in Logistics and Procurement or related field
  • Relevant
    training in Logistics and Procurement
  • Experience
    in Human Resource, Admin and Logistics
  • Excellent
    oral and written communication skills in English
  • Strong
    interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate skills in leading a
    multi- disciplined team through a period of change
  • Analytical,
    decision making and strategic planning skills and the ability to handle
    multiple priorities
  • Ability
    to coach, mentor, delegate appropriately and provide developmental
    guidance to supervised staff
  • Competent
    level skills in core IT applications, particularly MS Office
  • A
    commitment to the values and principles of Save the Children
  • High
    level of commitment to the principles of development and to the
    organizational and programmatic goals of  Save the Children
  • Base
    in Kirehe or surrounded area will be an advantage
