The Network of Lawyers of Hope in Rwanda (LOH), which is registered as a
National Non Governmental organisation and whose office is situated at Kacyiru,
Kigali, Rwanda.
As an association of Christian lawyers, we seek to reach out to the most
vulnerable members of our society, in particular vulnerable children, prisoners
and other needy people; to seek justice on their behalf; and
share with them

sin by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, God incarnate, who died
on the cross, rose from death, ascended into heaven, indwells Christian
believers through the Holy Spirit and will return in Glory.
The Network of Lawyers of Hope is seeking to recruit a qualified, dedicated and
experienced Rwandan national accountant to fulfil the following duties:

3. Location: Kigali City
4. Period: 7 months with the possibility
of renewal on a part time basis thereafter.
5. Responsibilities:
l Day-to-day accounting involving management of petty cash and book keeping for
the organisation’s funds in accordance with the LOH Financial Guidance;
development of the annual budget request; compiling and disbursing monthly
payments to staff and volunteers; requesting funds from the LOH signatories;
compiling monthly accounts; payment of RRA and RSSB contributions; and
coordination of the annual audit.
· Prepare monthly/quarterly and annual financial reports for
the organisation’s activities in compliance with the sponsors’ standards
· Review funds spending for different projects and ensure
that the expenses match the budget and Plan.
· Review the LOH Finance Guidance, forms and office
procedures.
· Produce a report and recommendations to the Board of the
Network on best practice and with any proposals for amending accounting/office
procedures, taking account of projected growth.
· Assist in project audits; provide management responses,
follow up for adequate implementation of recommendations.
· Provide guidance and support in developing a new
program/project and budgets, revision of existing budgets with a view of
advising on key strategic financial implications as per Financial Manual and
donor requirements.
· Analyze receivable and payable accounts on quarterly basis,
reconcile labor distribution
reports on monthly

· Track and report on fuel consumption by project vehicles
and motorcycle
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The following knowledge, skills and abilities may be acquired through a
combination of formal schooling, self-education, prior experience, or on-the
job training.
1. A Christian – you must be able to sign up to our Statement
of Faith above
2. Must have completed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from a
recognised institution.
3. A minimum experience of 2 years in similar position.
4. Must have a proven knowledge of Generally Accepted
Accounting principles and practical knowledge in financial systems and internal
controls.
5. Good knowledge of accounting software (The knowledge of
QuickBooks would be an added advantage).
6. Require proven experience in treasury activities,
establishment, monitoring of budgets and an understanding of data processing
concepts and systems.
7. Computer literacy and working knowledge of
spreadsheet applications essential.
8. Must have good oral and written communication skills and
team building skills.
9. Ability to speak, read and write in English, French and
Kinyarwanda to a high standard.
10. Experience of working with a nongovernmental organisation
would be an added value
