Reporting to the Field Director, the Data Manager will be responsible for
Formulate, implement and enforce proper data collection policies and standard
operating procedures (Sop), Train and educate data reporting teams and
transcribers on data collection tools, proc
esses and equipment, Troubleshoot
and timely resolution of data entry errors and data error issues, Perform and
document procedures for data preparation including data cleaning,
standardization and analysis, Develop data collection and evaluation
methodologies, design databases, including format design, data compilation,
relevancy and usage
Manager contract(s) with ICT software vendor(s), Ensure IT system is
operational at all times, Assist reporting teams with set-up, testing and
implementation of data collection software, Ensure that all software updates
are properly installed and rolled out, Ensure IT systems security using
up-to-date technologies, Ensure that the project’s website is functional and up
to date, Take lead in developing standards for ICT policy within the project,
Leverage ICT systems to enhance Good Clinical Practice
Data Reporting and Analysis – Take lead in preparing Statistical Analysis
plans, Prepares statistical analysis reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
as required by study protocols for distribution, Develop adhoc reports as
necessary, develop and maintain public access or limited access data, develop a
data coding guide for locally managed protocols
Collaboration – Foster relationships with other college of Medicine (CoM)
members that have research interest, Work with peers from wit the CoM research
institutions, Attend related data Meetings within the CoM research institutions
In-depth knowledge of MS Windows/Office products, Familiarity with IP
Routing/Switchin/Linux/Unix, Competence in web design, Demonstrated familiarity
with Statistical Software (Stata, SAS, Epi Info, SPSS)),Excellent presentation
skills, Communication skill with co-workers supervisors and external
stakeholders
Bachelors Degree majoring in Computer Science/Statistics (minimum), 3 yrs
experience in data management, Knowledge/Appreciation of Epidemiology in
Malawi
