consultancies, operators and government organisations worldwide.
We are currently working alongside a global engineering consultancy in their
requirement for suitably experienced Senior MX Road Designers to be engaged
initially on a 3 month contract. This may well extend out.
Primary Responsibilities:
The purpose of this role is the development and production of road design
models and documentation to required technical standards and project
requirements. The primary areas of focus are:
- To
develop, and lead the development of 2D functional designs using AutoCAD
or Microstation, in accordance with relevant standards covering concept,
tender, and detailed design phases of projects as required - To
develop, and lead the development of road design models and outputs in MX,
including providing MX modelling leadership within project teams where
required - To
develop the capabilities of the Section in use of MX for road design,
including improvement of the efficiency and consistency of design
workflow, development of the individual capability of team members, and
positioning for introduction of the next generation of design software - To
provide leadership in project setup, use and management of documentation
in ProjectWise, and further development of skills and capabilities of the
Roads Section in the use of design applications - Provides
leadership in the Section on strategic planning for road design software
applications including setup, customisation, transition planning and
integration of packages within the Section - Provides
input into Section level learning and development planning, centred around
skill development in MX, ProjectWise and Microstation - Provides
teaching and mentoring to other team members in the use of MX,
ProjectWise, and Microstation - Provides
teaching and mentoring to other team members in road design in accordance
with VicRoads and AustRoads guidelines
/ Education
- Associate
Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent - Advanced
knowledge of and recent application of road design guidelines including
both VicRoads and AustRoads publications - Advanced
knowledge and recent application of MX for road design and modelling - Advanced
knowledge and recent application of Microstation (mandatory) and AutoCAD
(preferable)
