Lawyers of Hope and
Play for Hope (US) are working on joint projects to care for the vulnerable
youth of Rwanda through sports training, Christian discipleship, education, and
life skills training. Sites include training sites for neighborhood and
vulnerable youth and a education/soccer academy for extremely vulnerable youth.

It is in this regard
that Lawyers of Ho

pe is looking for professional, qualified employees for a
short period of 3 months to occupy the following positions.

Job
Descriptions  

1. Office
Manager (1 post)  

General
Description:  

The office manager
will manage the office including compiling and filing financial and narrative
reports, keeping staff schedules, and all general duties it requires to keep
the office operationally. This is a full time position.  

Requirements:
 

  • Proficient
    oral and written English and Kinyarwanda.
  • Degree
    or achieving degree in finance or related field.
  • Experience
    with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Quickbooks
  • Minimum
    3 month experience working with Sports Related NGO in financial field.
  • Ability
    to coordinate schedules and manage time.
  • Good communication
    skills. – Strong Christian faith  

Primary
Responsibilities:  

  • Compile
    and file narrative reports on activities done by staff in Kefa Project to
    Lawyers of Hope every Friday to Country Coordinator.
  • File
    grant requests and pick-up petty cash from Lawyers of Hope accountant and
    distribute according to budget to complete grant requirements.
  • Track
    receipts and expenditures per guidelines and report every week to Lawyers
    of Hope accountant.
  • Complete
    weekly action plan for responsibilities.
  • Keep
    documents secure per guidelines.
  • Attending
    weekly devotion.  

Secondary
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate
    office schedule for when staff is required to come and to keep basic
    attendance of staff during staff meetings.
  • Translation
    of information as needed by international donors.
  • Contact
    person for organization.
  • Make
    sure office has sufficient supplies for completing tasks.  

2. Technical
Director (1 post)

General
Description:

The technical
director is in charge of all of sports related activities within the project,
including developing long-term program design and managing and following-up on
coaches. This is a full time position.  

Requirements

  • Minimum
    of 5 years coaching experience.
  • Experience
    as previous technical director is recommended.
  • Previous
    professional playing experience is a bonus.
  • Proficient
    in English and Kinyarwanda.
  • Good
    leadership qualities.

    with injury prevention programming

Primary
Responsibilities

  • Oversee
    and approve all practice plan development with coaches.
  • Create
    3 month coaching goals and programming

    progress for 3 month coaching goals with weekly and monthly action plans.

    training sites for quality control and assessment.
  • Oversee
    implementation of injury prevention programming.
  • Assist
    in creation of tracking all sites athletically.

Educational/Chaplain Director (1 post)

General
Description  

This is a part-time
position.  

Requirements
 

  • Minimum
    1 year chaplaincy experience.
  • University
    Degree.
  • Experience
    with Rwandan legal system. Law degree is a bonus.
  • Basic
    understanding of education system and requirements.
  • Strong
    Christian faith   

Primary
Responsibilities  

  • Planning
    academy athlete bible devotions.
  • Coordinate
    speakers to come to academy to teach them.
  • Oversee
    academy education reports to ensure boys are academically eligible.
  • Work
    with academy manager for long-term planning and overseeing implementation
    of academy boys’ future.
  • Coordinate
    with local churches and organizations to recruit and partner with
    volunteer chaplains for training sites.
  • Oversee
    Monday staff devotions.
  • Oversee
    general athlete school sponsorships.
  • Attending
    weekly devotion.
  • Coordinating
    devotions for training sites with coaches.  

Secondary
Responsibilities  

  • Resolve
    any conflict between office manager and technical director.

4. Academy
Manager  

General
Description:  

Requirements:

  • Proficient
    oral and written English and Kinyarwanda.
  • University
    degree or in process
  • Minimum
    2 years of sports academy management experience.
  • Minimum
    3 years of coaching background
  • Coaching
    certification
  • Experience
    with making reports and handling finances.

Responsibilities:  

  • File

5. Academy
Educator/English Trainer/Equipment Manager (1 post)

Requirements:

    in English, non-native Kinyarwanda speaker strongly preferred.

    secondary Degree in Pedagogy.

    two years experience with sports equipment management.
  • Basic
    understanding of sports equipment.

Prevention/Strength Training Coach/Media Specialist

Description  

Requirements:

  • Certification
    in Injury Prevention

    understanding of Functional Movement Screen.

    basic exercise correction and strength training modalities.

    understanding of TRX Suspension training.
  • Ability
    to capture photos and tell stories.
  • Background
    in soccer coaching strongly preferred.

Primary
Responsibilities:  

  • Creation
    of weekly action plans for strength training and injury prevention
    trainings.
  • Training
    academy athletes in injury prevention twice per week.
  • Visiting
    other training sites as warranted to create injury prevention programs.
  • Reporting
    two stories of transformation with accompanying media to Lawyers of Hope
    per month.

    photography and updates to Play For Hope US for updating Facebook, Instagram,
    and other forms of social media.
  • Covering
    project events with photography and written stories.

    worked with coach trainers outside of Rwanda strongly preferred.

    attend all required coach-planning meetings.
  • Running
    practices a minimum of twice per week at their training site.
  •  Creation
    of practice plan for every practice that is run.

    with head of chaplaincy to coordinate devotions at least once per week.
  • Overall
    team coordination for practice times and meetings.

    two matches per month for their youth.
