Commercial Director
– Football Association of Malawi – FAM
FAM invites
applications from suitable and qualified candidates for the position of
Commercial Director DevelopFAM’s commercial strategy and plan for
identifying all sources of commercial income and the tasks required to exploit
them, Advise the FAM Executive Committee on opportunities and strategies that
will optimize commercial and marketing income of FAM, Maximise the income of
FAM from its properties through commercial activities such as advertising,
merchandising, publications, etc., Identify potential commercial part
ners of
FAM and negotiate commercial deals with them on behalf of FAM, manage and
service all commercial partner relationships to ensure full compliance with the
terms of the contracts and the satisfaction of the partners, Advice FAM on the
exploitation of broadcasting(TV, radio and new media) rights from its national
teams and competitions to achieve significant revenue and manage the
relationships with the broadcast media when contracts are agreed, Manage the
facilitation of broadcasting live matches of FAM, Advertising FAM on proposed
ticket pricing for all events, Exploits FAM’s website as an information/news
source, football promotion tool and a revenue generation vehicle, Advise FAM on
the use of third party marketing agents in the commercial activities of FAM and
if such agents are approved, manage the relationships with them, Developing and
implementing a brand strategy for FAM that achieves a positive image for FAM
and football in Malawi, Carry out marketing and commercial research and develop
and maintain appropriate database, which fan, client and partner information,
media networks contacts, etc., Developing, implementing and maintaining
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities to promote football in Malawi
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Marketing, At least a minimum of 5 yrs.
experience in Marketing, Must be proficient in the use of MS Office suit
especially Power Point, Excel and Word, Must have excellent verbal, written and
presentation skills including English language fluency, Must have strong
interpersonal and be able to meet with and interact successfully with Senior
business people and to develop, maintain and utilize an extensive network of
business and media contracts, Must have strong project management skills, Must
be dependable, cooperative and a team player, Must be able to interpret and
analyse the business environment to support FAM’s commercialization drive, Must
have excellent task management skills, able to set and meet deadlines and
multi-task effectively, Must be able to work independently, pro-actively and
have a hands-on’ approach and Must have knowledge of football Applicants
