Role in
Organization:
CAMRIS seeks a
qualified Grants Manager/Specialist for an anticipated multi-year
USAID/Integrating Nutrition in Value Chains II funded project. The Grants
Manager/Specialist will be responsible for the projects grants and managing all
details including the design, development, and oversight of the grants. The
Grants Manager/Specialist will also direct a team of grant officers while
overseeing the administration and compliance of direct distribution of goods
and services, cash and in-kind grants under Contract with USAID rules and
regulations.

Description:
Essential
functions, duties, responsibilities:
- Manages
all grant policies and procedures to make sure they are in compliance with
company rulings. - Reviews
projects prior to submission to USAID to ensure proper use of
grantmaking/contract mechanisms - Ensures
database accuracy and compliance, and that the database is utilized
effectively with regards to reporting and research. - Creates
and maintains grants filing system for audits including hardcopy and
electronic files - Provides
training to support team in charge of conducting pre-award assessments of
potential grantees, processing of payments, determining grant/contract
intricacies, and final review of grant results. - Direct
background searches on potential grantees that includes evaluation of the
financials, organization leadership, grants management and administrative
proficiency of grantees. - Design
and implement a process of conducting the final grant reporting and
closure of grants in line with USAID partner guidelines and CAMRIS
policies and regulations.
Supervisory
Responsibilities
The Grants
Manager/Specialist will report directly to the Deputy Chief of Party
Qualifications:
- Bachelors
degree in relevant field; Masters degree preferred - Advanced
knowledge of agriculture and health - Progressive
knowledge and understanding of USAID rules and regulations as they relate
to grants and contract management - At
least three years of experience working in Southeast Africa, preferably
Malawi - Excellent
interpersonal and leadership skills. - Proficient
with all aspects of issuing grants - Strong
ability to work with Malawian government groups and coordinate with local
partners - Proven
record of consistently outperforming targets. - Professional
fluency in English. - Proficiency
in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access required.
Work
Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely
uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing
cabinets and fax machines.

Position
Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and regular hours of work and days are Monday
through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Travel: Travel throughout Malawi is
expected. Regional or international travel may be required.
