MCSP M&E assistant
The Maternal and Child Survival
Program (MCSP) is a global, USAID Cooperative Agreement operating in 24 high
priority countries to introduce and support high-impact health interventions
with the ultimate goal of ending preventable child and maternal deaths within a
generation.

The Program is focused on
ensuring that all women, newborns and children most in need have equitable
access to quality health care services to save lives. USAID’s MCSP supports
programming in maternal, newborn and child health, immunization, family
planning and reproductive health, nutrition, health systems strengthening,
water/sanitation/hygiene, malaria, prevention of mother-to-child transmission
of HIV, and pediatric HIV care and treatment. USAID’s MCSP engages governments,
policymakers, private sector leaders, health care providers, civil society,
faith-based organizations and communities in adopting and accelerating proven
approaches to address the major causes of maternal, newborn and child mortality
such as postpartum hemorrhage, birth asphyxia and diarrhea, respectively, and
improve the quality of health services, from household to hospital.

USAID’s
Maternal and Child Survival Program in Rwanda is hiring an M&E assistant
who will work as an integral part of MCSP Rwanda’s M&E team. The M&E
Assistant will report to the M&E Programs and Capacity Building Lead for the Ending Preventable Child and Maternal
Deaths (EPCMD) program under MCSP in Rwanda.

Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities:
Skills and Abilities:
- Degree
in public health, epidemiology, health informatics, statistics, Mass
communication or related social science;
- At
least 3 years of applied skills in designing and implementing M&E
activities and special studies for integrated public health programs that
include family planning/reproductive health, HIV/AIDS, maternal, neonatal
and child health, malaria prevention and treatment, nutrition, and safe
water and hygiene – or related programs;
- Strong
technical skills, including ability to process and analyze data using one
or more statistical software packages, including at least one of the
following: SPSS, Epi-Info, Stata, MS Access
- Strong
knowledge and experience in documenting success stories and editing skills
- Experienced
in integrating M&E demands and expectations of USAID missions into the
overall M&E design of a program;
- Demonstrated
understanding of health facilities and community-based family health
services and M&E practices in Rwanda;
- Speaking
and writing English fluently and French working knowledge is needed;
- Ability to travel nationally
