transforming patient health and health care systems for the most vulnerable
people
DI
works with patients, health care workers, researchers and policy makers to
treat patients, mentor medical staff and develop the knowledge base of
researchers and govt to catalyse change in global health practice and
policy.  The DI Malawi team of 150+ staff works primarily in the
South East Zone with the main office located in Zomba

DI is
therefore seeking to recruit highly motivated person for the position of
Assistant Communications Officer to be based in Zomba
The
Assistant Communications Officer will work with the communications team in
internal and external promotion of Dignitas within Malawi, she/he will support
the collection, creation and editing of communications materials such
as  interviews, reports and success stories
Advanced
diploma or bachelors degree in Media Studies, Mass Communication or Journalism,
At least 2 yrs experience in communication or journalism, including photography
and videography, Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet, Fluent in
English and Chichewa, Demonstrated ability to organise, set priorities, and
meet deadlines under pressure

newsroom experience, especially reporting on vulnerable groups Good understanding
of HIV and TVB issues, Ability to work under minimum supervision while meeting
deadlines, An energetic drive to succeed plus being resilient and
stress-tolerant, Ability to transcribe/translate interviews, Ability to
generate news ideas and write longer feature articles
