About Microleasing Project
Swisscontact promotes the concept of microleasing
for the acquisition of productive assets for rural smallholder farmers in
support of economic development. Microleasing is the leasing of assets of small
value which generate additional income for low income people.  Since 2006
Swisscontact have been implementing a project
to develop a sustainable leasing mechanism to enable low-income people
to acquire income-generating assets; and to test
asset financing among rural SMEs and small holder farmers. The aim of this
partnership is to enable rural smallholder farmers to access productive assets
based on their cash-flows and revenues plus on their (in) ability to provide
collateral. The goal of this project is to improve the access to appropriate
financial services, by low-income people in rural areas, through the
introduction of microleasing as a financial product implemented through a
viable distribution channel.  For More information please visit http://www.swisscontact.org/en/kenya/projects/projects/p/Project/show/microleasing.html
