Aerial Ropes & Zipline Guide (Seasonal, Part-time/Full-time)
Organization: Treetop Trekking Stouffville
Location: Stouffville, Ontario (Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area)
Reports to: Site Manager at Treetop Trekking Stouffville
Start Date: asap – October (end dates are flexible)
The first Treetop Trekking site opened in Quebec in 2002, and the
company has been growing ever since. We now have five established
parks in Ontario located in Barrie, Huntsville and Ganaraska (Port
Hope), and Brampton, and Stouffville. Treetop Trekking is excited to
bring the biggest and most exciting zip line and aerial challenge game
parks to new regions of Ontario. Our company is made up of passionate
and energetic individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds who all
have the same goal – to help people make lasting memories through
outdoor fun, exciting physical activity and life changing personal
growth.
Summary of Position
Treetop Trekking is looking for enthusiastic individuals who are
passionate about guiding, outdoor leadership and customer service. As
part of the Treetop Trekking team, you will be responsible for leading
participants through aerial ropes courses and ziplines, ensuring the
safety of each participant and creating a memorable experience for
each client.
Qualifications:
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR C.
• Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups and
interacting with a diverse clientele (Families, school groups etc.)
• Must demonstrate excellent team work skills, decision making skills
and stay flexible
• Must be comfortable working rain and shine, and on weekends/holidays
• Must be able to perform the physical aspects of the job (lifting,
bending, climbing for long periods of time)
• Working knowledge of aerial courses and climbing is an asset
• Experience working in outdoor education or guiding considered an asset
• Working towards a University or College degree in a related field is
considered an asset
• Must be 18 years old
Responsibilities as a Guide:
• Greet customers as they arrive on the site, answer questions about
reservations and the course
• Outfit customers with harnesses and helmets
• Complete equipment checks and course checks – bring any
safety/maintenance concerns to the attention of the Site Managers
• Guide customers through course orientations (present safety rules,
climbing tips and monitor each climber’s ability)
• Guide customers through aerial ropes/zipline courses and ensure
customer safety
• Help control flow of traffic through each aerial course
• Follow emergency first aid protocols and be comfortable performing First Aid
• Work well with other guides to create a cohesive work environment
dedicated to providing a memorable customer experience
