Prison Health Program Manager – 1 post –
Blantyre/Lilongwe – Management Sciences for Health
Reporting to the Project Director, the Prison Health Program Manager will be
responsible for coordination of all program activities in relation to the
prison health program that is working towards access for all prisoners and
prison staff to a basic minimum package of prevention, care and
treatment
services for HIV and TB, She/he will work closely with the Malawi Prison Health
Service’s health system and mapping exercise of support to the MPHS, establish
and support formal co-ordination mechanisms between the MPHS, Malawi Ministry
of Health (MOH), other implementing partners working in prisons, and district
health services, Support the MPHS in organising supervision and M&E
activities; Develop quarterly and annual plans to support the MPHS, Support the
MPHS in developing protocols, SOPs and guidelines as well as M&E tools for
implementing and monitoring and report on the program, Suport the MPHS in
organising supervision and M&E activities, Develop
quarterly and annual plans to support the MPHS, Provide supervisory oversight
to a clinical mentor, Carry out project evaluations and operations research,
and prepare success stories, lessons learned documents, and abstracts for
scientific conferences
Clinical Officer and MPH is desirable with minimum of 4 yrs experience working
on HIV programmes, 2 yrs of which have been in a technical leadership capacity,
Must have sound understanding of both biomedical and other HIV prevention
interventions and relevant skill sets for working with Key populations,
Familiar with working with NGOS in the delivery of health services, Candidate
must be proactive, highly energised and with ability to facilitate the
activation and coordination of community groups, Proven programmatic, technical
and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with professional
colleagues, Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate with a variety of
collaborators, including national authorities, donors, technical assistance
organisations, and national and internal NGOs, demonstrated experience in
developing guidelines, SOPS, implementation plans and M&E tools, Direct
supervision experience within the health sector, Ability to
integrate new activities into existing programs and bring them to scale,
Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills in Chichewa
and English, Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Suite applications,
including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, Ability to travel within the
country
