In this role
This position sits
within the College of Science, Health and Engineering . The college offers a
range of general and specialist undergraduate and postgraduate courses that
attuned to meeting the needs of students in ensuring their readiness to work in
changing environments.
This position is a 3
year fixed term research appointment and will be located in the Living with
Disability Research Centre.
The position sits
within the La Trobe University and Summer Foundation Living Well with Brain
Injury partnership. The research focus of the Living Well with Brain
Injury partnership is to develop interventions and measure outcomes
(participation, social inclusion, choice, control, well-being and implications
for life time care costs) related to life-time support of people with acquired
brain injury under 65 years. It is anticipated that this research will provide
an evidence base to inform services funded by the NDIS.
The candidate
Duties will include:
Conduct
and publish, or otherwise disseminate high quality and/or high impact research
as a member of a team or independently and produce conference/seminar papers
and publications from that research.
Contribute
to writing up research findings for publication and dissemination.
Contribute
to the preparation or, where appropriate, individual preparation of research
proposal submissions to external funding sources.
Engage
with industry and community to ensure that all research results are
communicated and adopted by industry, community and/or government.
Co-supervise
or, where appropriate supervise Higher Degree by Research (HDR) postgraduate
students as required.
Supervise
research support staff involved in the staff member’s research.
Develop
a limited amount of research related material for teaching or other purposes.
Contribute
to a robust and ambitious research culture.
Contribute
to the activities of the department and school, as agreed with the supervisor
and as consistent with the requirements of any external contracts relating to
funding of the position.
