About the Role
The overall purpose of this position is to administer the University’s
WorkCover claims and payments in accordance with the Workplace Injury
Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013. The position is also responsible for
the collection, analysis and reporting of WorkCover related data and statistics

Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include:
• Undertake the end to end process of makeup pay and related compensation
calculations and payments to WorkCover recipients consistent with the relevant
workplace Agreement and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation
Act 2013
• Undertake the processing and monitoring of WorkCover claims and associated
payroll documentation for claimants and ensure that they are fully completed
and compliant with VU policies and the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation
Act 2013;
• Register, update and close WorkCover and early intervention case files.
Skills & Expertise

• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in WorkCover claims and payments
processing in accordance with the relevant workplace agreement and the current
Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013;
• Proficiency in all aspects of word processing, including Microsoft Word,
Excel, access and outlook, together with the ability to quickly gain working
knowledge and operational proficiency of any relevant worker compensation or
online systems
• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to
maintain confidentiality. Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the
ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of staff in a University
environment in order to meet the position objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload in a busy/demanding
environment and complete competing work tasks within specified timeframes
