offers youth education programs, adult education, and live concerts and events

organized individual to fill the role of:

Web
Developer Job Duties:

•   
Newsletter – work with Promotions manager to produce and send the Jazz
Messenger, a weekly newsletter about all things jazz

•   
Survey creation – Working with Management to produce surveys and compile
results

•   
Social media – manage Twitter and Facebook accounts

•   
Graphic Design – create graphics and ad campaigns for web, print and mobile

•   
Manage daily content updates via CMS backend, and revising contents on multiple
pages on a regular basis.

•   
Create websites, micro-sites for event within the station or other business
use, from beginning to end: design conceptualization, mock ups, skeleton
creation, and final product roll out.

•   
Perform system analysis, design, and work estimation for required business
functions

•   
Research best practices to cater towards our clients’ needs in executing
high-level functioning websites
Desired Skills and Experience:

•   
Deep expertise and hands-on development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript,
Bootstrap, jQuery, PHP – Firm knowledge of SQL databases

•   
Ability to integrate with APIs (RESTful) that produce JSON or XML – Firm
knowledge of SEO best practices from a web development perspective

•   
Thorough understanding of modern web standards (AODA, W3C), cross-browser
compatibility, and UI/UX

•   
High-level proficiency using Joomla CMS (Ability to create/manage custom
plug-ins an asset)

•   
Proficiency in WordPress an asset

•   
Professional skill level with Adobe Creative Suite

•   
Strong time management skills and ability to take a project from inception to
completion

•   
Self-motivated with the ability to work under minimal supervision and manage
multiple projects at once

•   
Proactive, organized, and an innovative problem solver

•   
Keen interest in keeping up-to-date with new and emerging industry trends

Qualifications:

•   
Completion of related post-secondary training in multimedia design and
programming or equivalent work experience

•   
3-5 years experience in a creative, digital media, web-development environment,
including at least three years as a Web Designer/Web Developer in a small, but
complex environment

•   
Excellent understanding of web site / application development; knowledgeable in
best-practices site architecture, user-interface specification, functionality
specification, and interactive design, possession of necessary technical skills
to perform all aspects of Web Site design/ development and maintenance work.

•   
Journalistic training would be considered an advantage

•   
Excellent written/oral communication skills, able to work within a dynamic,
creative and diverse group and document the processes and techniques of a
system

•   
Love of music is essential
