$104,050 to $119,979 p.a. + 17% super - The
position is based in Bundoora, Australia

Situated within the College of Science, Engineering and Health, the School of
Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is one of the largest and
most progressive engineering schools in Australia. The School is recognised
internationally for excellence in engineering education and high impact
research, with engineering research ranked above world standard across all
associated disciplines of the School and the top 51 – 100 in the world (QS,
2014). Aerospace engineering research is ranked in the top 3 in the country
(Excellence in Research for Australia, ERA).
The School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering is nationally
and internationally renowned for academic excellence and industry engagement in
the discipline areas of Aerospace and Aviation Engineering, Manufacturing and
Materials Engineering, and Mechanical and Automotive Engineering. We are widely
recognised for our programs characterised by innovative project based learning
and work integrated learning, supreme research facilities and robust relations
with local and international industry leaders.
The School is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical
Engineering focusing on Energy, with expertise in at least one of the following
specialist areas: solar-thermal systems, hydrogen energy systems, and/or
combustion energy systems. The successful candidate will be expected to
participate in the academic activities of the School and the College and to
pursue a program of professional development consistent with the strategic
goals of the School. This is a senior academic position within the Discipline
of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering that is expected to undertake high
quality teaching, research and industry engagement in the designated field both
nationally and internationally.
To be considered for this opportunity you must possess a PhD in Engineering
combined with a proven record of academic and/or professional achievement in
Mechanical Engineering focusing on solar-thermal systems, hydrogen energy
systems and combustion energy systems. In addition, you will have proven
ability to undertake high quality research in the designated field resulting in
high quality journal articles in recognized international journals as well as
proven ability to prepare and win competitive research grants and/or research
contracts with industry.
