Field and Operations Manager – African Parks –
Majete
Law Enforcement, Fencing Section, Mechanical workshop, Technical, construction
and civil maintenance section
Develop long term planning regarding activities for each section, Ensure
effective law enforcement operations as per the business plan, Construct and
maintain all necessary infrastructure as p
er the business plan, Construct and
maintain all fence infrastructure including electric game fencing, Develop and
implement wildlife management operation as per the business plan, Management
and maintenance of all machinery and equipment, vehicles, tractors, motorbikes,
boats, water pumps and generator, Control and efficient use of physical finical
and other resources during operations, Planning procurement and sourcing of
supplies, spares and equipment related to park operations, Control and
supervision of all activities in the reserve including contractors, researchers
and concessionaires, Organises all staff efficiently and effectively and coach
team leaders in their job, standing in as Park Manager when the Park Manager is
on leave or away from the project
The position requires a qualified and experienced person with a relevant Degree
in Park Administration, Biodiversity Management, Conservation, wildlife
management and technical operations with demonstrable experience in the
management of wildlife conservation projects and in one or all of the
following park management disciplines: technical (construction, mechanics,
fence building, fence maintenance, road maintenance, water systems, solar),
conservation (game relocations, veterinary, conservation knowledge or training),
law enforcement (field experience, field management, law enforcement
techniques, law enforcement technologies)
