Your
Business:
Institutional
Banking and Markets is responsible for managing the Group’s relationships with
major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and
provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management
products and services. Our purpose is to enhance our clients’ success
through market-leading capabilities and unique insights
. It’s part of our
DNA. IB&M also performs an important internal role for the Group by
providing equities, markets, lending and transaction banking execution
capabilities to other CBA business units that allows them to capture
opportunities with business customers.
Your
Team
:

The Client Coverage Group (CCG) is responsible for managing the Bank’s largest
institutional client relationships across the Corporate, Financial Institutions
and Government sectors. Our bankers’ primary focus is to leverage our unique
insights and best advice to deliver solutions to our clients.CBA is a leading
financier to the Industrials, Food, Beverage and Agriculture (IFB&A) sector
in Australia. The IFB&A Coverage team focuses on establishing and
maintaining key relationships with clients in the sector both in Australia and
globally.
Your
impact & contribution:
This
unique role will be responsible for both the provision of coverage and funding
related support for the team’s top clients, in addition to working with senior
executives across Coverage/Rleationship Bankers, Product and Risk to enhance
strategic dialogue, advice and pitching to the teams priority and target
clients in the Industrials, Food and Beverage sector.
Your
responsibilities:
The
key responsibilities for the role include:
  • Develop
    a solid understanding of your client’s industry, business and funding
    requirements.
  • Build
    strong internal relationships with Product, Risk and Coverage teams to
    gain a thorough understanding of IB&M’s full product offering, systems
    and processes.
  • Work
    with senior executives across Coverage, Product and Risk to develop
    strategic and leading edge ideas/solution for priority and target clients,
    including to:
  • Work
    with Relationship Bankers in the provision of coverage support to key
    clients including:
  • Drive
    efficiencies in servicing clients throughout the sales cycle, for
    instance, working in conjunction with Relationship Banker, Product and
    Risk.
  • Share
    industry insights and ‘best practice’ across Coverage teams
  • Adhere
    to the risk appetite of the bank and work collaboratively with Risk
    Management colleagues to manage the quality of the portfolio from both a
    credit and operational perspective
Your
experience and qualifications:
  • Highly
    developed research, analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Sound
    understanding of corporate finance and DCF modelling
  • Experienced
    in understanding the operational drivers of a business and how they relate
    to the financial drivers of that business.
  • Transactional
    experience and understanding of the equity, debt and capital markets.
  • Self-starter
    with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects/transactions.
  • Able
    to very quickly grasp complex structured transactions and analyse the
    benefits of the idea for specific client circumstances.
  • Articulate
    with strong presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Experienced
    in preparing client pitches and presentations.
  • An
    excellent communicator and have the ability to build a strong rapport with
    clients and work colleagues.
  • Degree
    in commerce, business or related field. Post-graduate qualifications are
    desirable.
