Calgary Communities
Against Sexual Abuse is offering a full-time position as the Team Leader of
CCASA’s Education and Outreach Programs. This individual will work alongside
the Education and Outreach Program Director to plan, develop, implement and
maintain programs and serv
ices.
Responsibilities of the Education Team Leader
would include:
- Working
with the Education and Outreach Program Director to maintain and expand
existing education and outreach programs: “Who Do You Tell?”™;
Public Education; Diversity Outreach; “ManEnough?”™ (Men’s
Engagement programs); and the Community Engagement and Volunteer Program - Working
with the Education and Outreach Program Director to plan, develop,
implement and evaluate new programs, service models and internal operating
structures - Participation
in creative and effective outreach and program development activities - Facilitation
of all CCASA’s community and professional education programs - Delivery
of presentations to children, youth and adults on topics related to sexual
violence - Responding
to disclosures of abuse/assault in a professional, supportive manner,
including assessing for risk and reporting to authorities when required - Providing
crisis support, information, advocacy and referrals to community members
when needed
* Successful
applicant will be required to work some evenings and weekends.
The successful
applicants will have the following qualifications:
- A
degree in social/human services and professional registration if
applicable - Possess
an anti-oppressive analysis of sexual violence and an understanding and
comfort with issues related to sexual violence - Crisis
intervention and assessment skills - Strong
public speaking, facilitation and community development skills - Minimum,
three to five years’ experience in the human/social service,
not-for-profit sector with some experience in a Team Lead role - An
understanding of program development and evaluation and ability to analyze
and communicate this information would be considered an asset
