REPORTS TO: Managing Director
OVERVIEW: VICE Media is seeking a
Music Supervisor who is responsible for placing and licensing all of the music
used within all VICE-owned properties and all VICE-produced content across
digital and linear properties. From a creative perspective, the Music
Supervisor collaborates with editors and producers to fill all of their music
needs. From a legal perspective, the Music Supervisor ensures all songs and
performances are clear prior to airdates.
ROLES &
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Maintaining
music library relationships; sourcing and navigating through different
music sources. - Maintain
music budges per linear series. - Ensure
all music cue sheets are completed and submitted to Rogers and/or the
performing rights societies. - Create
and maintain relationship with SOCAN and any other relevant performing
rights society. - Tracks
rights and monitors expiration dates for all domestic programming. - Researches
and establishes rights owners on all desired synchs, negotiating rights,
terms and fees and seeing licensing through papering and payment. - Any
additional duties as directed by immediate supervisor or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University
or College Degree in related field. - 4 years
of relative experience. - Perform
well under tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail. - Ability
to manage multiple responsibilities and assignments simultaneously under
?strict deadlines. - Strong
interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced
environment. - Knowledge
of the Vice brand and its properties.
