Job Vacancy:
IT Support Technician (Temporary Part-time – 14 hrs/wk)
Contract Duration: to end of December 2015
Reports to: Head of IT and Office Administration

Greenpeace Canada is seeking an IT Support Technician to administer
networks and IT systems in our Toronto office and to support
Greenpeace Canada staff with their computers, locally and

remotely.
This position reports to the Head of IT and works within the Finance &
Operations Department to develop the IT strategy for Greenpeace
Canada.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Respond to and resolve IT support tickets, with a priority for the
designated office
• Support, coach and interact directly with local office staff to
increase overall computer literacy at GPC and raise awareness of and
confidence in the various IT solutions available to users.
• Administer and maintain local networks and servers
• Ensure staff and network adherence to security protocols
• Configure and deploy client machines
• Develop ties and communications with Global IT department to ensure
awareness of Global policies and best practices and to guide
resolution of tickets that involve global systems
• Participate in the development of strategic and tactical IT planning
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required skills and experience:
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of current IT technology and
practices, including but not limited to Windows and Mac OS expertise,
Linux competence, basic networking principles, information security
best practices;
• Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills;
• Highly tuned customer service skills partnered with active listening
and communications skills;
• Proven administrative, organizational, and time management skills;
• Keen attention to detail;
• Proven aptitude for technology and problem solving skills;
• Experience working in diverse environments or proven ability to
appreciate diversity in all its forms;
• The ability to multitask in a fast-paced and sometimes interruptive
environment;
• Commitment to a culture of excellence and innovation by actively
sharing knowledge and striving for continuous improvement;
• Familiarity with Greenpeace goals and objectives;
• A commitment to constant learning and retention of information;
