About the Opportunity
Due to ongoing expansion, DeLaval currently has two exciting full-time
vacancies for Mechanical Design Engineers to join their team in
Hamilton, NZ.
Reporting to the Development and Engineering Manager, these roles are responsible
for designing, developing and maintaining mechanical designs for new product
development. Additionally, you will be responsible for resolving quality
and maintenance issues that arise in the design process.
Your other responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Ensuring
lean design methodology is adhered to and all designs are environmentally
conscious; - Designing
machine components and systems for manufacturing and serviceability; - Developing
test protocols for new product designs; - Analysing
and reporting on test results; - Identifying
and recommending opportunities for improvement; - Liaising
with test farm customers and key suppliers; and - Regular
national and international travel.
You
will have:
- Tertiary
qualifications in engineering or a similar discipline; - 3+
years practical engineering experience; - CAD,
2D CAD, 3D Solid-Edge, and FEA analysis experience; - Proficiency
in risk analyses and assessments; - Well
developed interpersonal and communication skills; - Fluent
English written & verbal skills; - A
motivated self starter able to work without supervision; - A
strong team player able to work well in a multicultural and
multidisciplinary environment; - Willingness
to work in the dairy environment; - Some
understanding of the dairy industry and dairy farmers; and - A
strong customer focus.
