350.org is looking for a talented, experienced person to
lead the
digital engagement strategy for a historic mass mobilization in July
2015. This is a 10-12 week contract position.

Context


In July 2015, 350.org will be leading a historic mobilization. This
action will bring together thousands of people from across Canada’s
social movement sectors over three days of bold, creative and
escalated action that calls for a freeze on tar sands development and
supports investment in a just transition towards an economy that works
for all workers.

This action will attract substantial press and movement attention, and
350 is looking for a strong digital organizer who can capitalize on
this political moment to build a better connected, more vibrant
movement. This will require clear communication skills, technical
ability and the flexibility to adapt to rapidly developing political
circumstances.

About the Digital Organizing Coordinator

The core responsibility of the Digital Organizing Coordinator is to
leverage the power of the internet to maximize the reach and impact of
this mobilization. The Digital Organizer will have extensive
experience with online organizing/campaigning, and will have created
and implemented ambitious digital strategies. We are looking for
someone who is comfortable working both independently and in teams,
highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take
direction from others.

The position will be responsible for the following:
• Website content creation and management
• Content creation for social media, mass emails, and more
• Digital coordination to align efforts of our coalition
• Potentially managing contractors tasked with supplementary digital
work: graphic designers, developers, etc.

Required Qualifications
• Experience working with CMS platforms including WordPress, Drupal, and more
• Experience working with a CRM like ActionKit or NationBuilder
• Experience managing social media properties and digital engagement programs
• Experience with both project management and staff/volunteer management.
• A+ verbal and written communications skills.
• Dedication to social, environmental, and climate justice.

Desired (but not required) skills and experiences
• Experience working in a horizontal and networked leadership structure.
• Ability to train others in digital organizing strategy and tools.
• Extensive experience working with environmental and social justice,
labor and/or community groups in nationally and in Toronto is a bonus.

Start Date: ASAP (Early May at the latest)

Duration: 10-12 weeks

Compensation: Competitive compensation based on experience
