Provide business
support to farmers/farmer groups and processors to ensure that project
milestones and targets are met, Facilitate end user demonstrations with new
potential users of cassava products to open up new market opportunities, Build
strategic contacts and necessary communication flows to enhance confidence for
all value chain actors, Ensure that appropriate contractual relationships are
made between farmer
s/farmer processors, village processors, intermediaries and
end-users, Support value chain actors in overcoming any problems encountered on
a day to day basis, Support the awareness-raising activities of the project
that are essential for ensuring that there is not a lack of knowledge about the
product and its potential amongst both farmers and end users of the product,
Undertake other tasks required by the Country Manager to contribute to
achieving the Cassava project objectives
Suitable candidates
should possess a minimum of university degree in Economics, Agribusiness or
related field, Minimum of 5 yrs relevant experience, particularly in the area
of business development is essential, The person should have an in depth
understanding of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), community groups and
market linkages, The person should also have experience of working with and
supporting farmers and farmer groups
The position is for
a 3 yr contract commencing May 2015 An attractive remuneration
