I am an organic market gardener and vegeta

ble grower (Certified
Naturally Grown) in western Quebec, near the Ontario border.

I have a 15 acre farm, of which two acres are currently cultivated. I
have three greenhouses.

I mainly grow garlic, spring greens, asian greens, spinach, lettuce
and other greens, scallions, radishes, pink and cherry tomatoes,
eggplants, sweet peppers, celeriac, leeks, baby beets and a few other
vegetables and herbs.

I’m seeking a volunteer to work with me this spring and summer.

Here are some of the advantages of choosing to do your volunteer work with me:
• I can offer food and accommodation and a salary of $150 per week.
• The volunteer can also have a plot to grow their own vegetables if desired.
• I have 25 years experience and often teach and advise others on
their individual projects. It’s very important for me that the
volunteer should feel he or she has learned something useful that they
can use in the future.
• I live in a beautiful spot with forest and walking trails.
• I live 50 minutes from Montreal.
• I am part of a well-established network of organic farmers in the region.
• I sell my produce at local farmers markets and the volunteer would
have the experience of selling at the market.
• I am a good cook and we eat well.

Details and requirements
• Four to five days work per week (approximately 35-40 hours per week).
• Car required for your own transport and outings.
• Planting, harvesting, watering, weeding and all other aspects of
vegetable production.
• Clean-living person.
• No-smoking house.
• I have 1 cat and 1 dog.
• I have a daughter who visits regularly and I share my property with
my brother (who does not work on the farm).
• I speak English and French, opportunity to learn French if desired.
