The
Victoria University Sydney Academic and Student Services Officer is responsible
for the administration of academic activities and outcomes at the Sydney campus
of Victoria University. The focus of the role is on the support, improved
facilitation and completion of daily activities as requested by academic staff.

position reports to the VU Sydney Manager, Teaching & Learning and is
offered for an initial two-year contract.

Duties
include, but are not limited to:

- Academic
and senior administrative support for the Manager Teaching and Learning;
VU Sydney Academic Coordinators; lecturers and the Campus Manager as
requested. - Preparation
of support materials needed for unit delivery before, during and at the
conclusion of each semester. - Supporting
the development of timetables and publishing. - Co-ordination
of the examination scheduling, arranging invigilators, securing and
administering examination papers. - Supported
by ECA Human Resources, co-ordinating the contract administration
associated with lecturer employment, lecturer invoicing and the academic
professional development register. - Responding
to the academic administrative enquiries from students. - Assisting
the Manager Teaching and Learning, the Campus Manager and the Student
Administration staff with the preparation and administration of each
orientation and enrolment period. - Completing
administration tasks associated with reporting data, internal marks, and
attendance records. - Maintaining
documentation and the supplies associated with the Academic Team Office. - Preparation
of agendas at formal Academic Team meetings. - Administrative
duties associated with Student Misconduct Hearings. - Co-ordination
of Academic and Student Progress Board (ASPB) meetings and processes.

- Relevant
tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent combination of education,
training and/or relevant work experience. - High-level
administration, organisational and superior time-management skills with
the ability to frequently prioritise tasks. - Indisputable
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as the
readiness to be a true team player, maintain confidentiality and exercise
diplomacy and tact. - The
ability to interact with students from culturally and linguistically
diverse backgrounds. - Demonstrated
outstanding experience in customer service skills and the ability to
respond sensitively to students and staff, showing initiative and
competence in determining priorities with general direction. - Strong
experience in client/customer service, managing high-stress situations,
and the ability to quickly identify solutions to routine and non-routine
problems. - Advanced
proficiency in spreadsheet software applications (e.g Excel) and
information management systems. - Demonstrated
understanding of, and commitment to, equity and workplace health and
safety principles.
