     0 Chemonics seeks a chief of party
    to manage an anticipated agriculture project with USAID in Malawi. The
    project will seek to improve private sector competitiveness, reduce
    poverty, and increase food security and nutrition by developing
    competitive agricultural value chains that engage smallholder farmers in
    Feed the Future districts in southern and central Malawi. We are looking
    for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of
    people around the world.
Responsibilities
include:

  • Provide
    tech
  • nical
    direction and management for project activities and operations
  • Serve
    as key project liaison and provide technical assistance to USAID staff,
    government of Malawi counterparts, and local stakeholders
  • Ensure
    project performance, compliance with contractual obligations, and results
    reporting
  • Supervise
    project personnel and subcontractors
  • Manage
    preparation of all project deliverables
Qualifications:
  • Advanced
    degree in business administration, agriculture, agribusiness, rural
    development, or a related field
  • Minimum
    15 years of progressive experience working overseas and demonstrated
    success managing complex programs related to agriculture, agribusiness, or
    value chains
  • Proven
    experience leading similar USAID technical assistance projects and
    advising on agricultural value chain development, food security and
    nutrition, small-to-medium enterprise development, and/or financing issues
  • Experience
    addressing rural gender disparities and gaps in project implementation
    leading to more equitable participation of men and women in project
    activities
  • Ability
    to work collaboratively with host-country officials and stakeholders
  • Strong
    interpersonal skills
  • Excellent
    written and oral communications skills
  • Demonstrated
    leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency
    in English required
