This is a 6-8 month contract with potential for extension or
conversion to permanent position.
Wage: commensurate with experience

Location: Waterloo, Guelph and surrounds, Ancaster
WORKING SITE SUPERVISOR
Reports to: Project Manager
Overall Responsibilities:
• Implement the general and weekly goals provided by the Project
Manager. Plan, organize and coordinate the daily activities of self
and Company crew staff meet provided goals (5-25% of avg. week)
• Perform direct physical work to lead or assist completion of tasks
as required, primarily foundation forming, framing, roofing,
insulating and finishing. (75-95% of avg. week)
• Collect receipts, invoices, waybills, and write purchase orders
pertaining to overseen work

Responsibilities:
• Serve as main site-liaison with Project Mgr and represent company
professionally in all interactions with clients, subcontractors and
public
• Supervise Company (1-3 avg) labourers with instructions, daily
goals, and any drop dead dates
• Monitor punch list and work plan implementation for overall quality,
timeliness and cost-effectiveness of all work performed by overseen
staff
• Ensure all advance planning (e.g. materials take-offs) and site
preparation (e.g. ordering rental equipment) is performed to ensure
staff have appropriate means to immediately and continuously perform
work to maintain desired schedule as determined by Project Mgr
• Perform physical work (e.g. carpentry, insulating, finishing, etc.)
as required
• Responsible for oversight of safe working conditions for all
supervised persons
• Assist crew members to gain personal satisfaction in team-work and
work well-done while expanding their knowledge and skills in a
mutually beneficial manner
Skills/Experience Required:
• Seven years varied residential low-rise construction experience
including framing and finish carpentry, with at least two years within
a construction Site Supervisory or Lead Hand role
• Post-graduate certificate or Diploma in Construction Project
Management shall be an asset (or may be considered in lieu of
experience required in #2)
• Knowledge of: the current Ontario Building Code as it applies to
residential low-rise and light-commercial construction. Knowledge of
Tarion Construction Standards shall be an asset.
• Possess all skills and general knowledge of typical
dimensions/sizing requirements required to perform material take-offs
and install with a high degree of quality: rough framing, doors,
windows, jams, cladding, trim, fixtures and appliances
• Possess understanding of project timing, logistics of completing
work on a day-to-day basis
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, and Word as well as
internet/email interconnectivity
• Leadership and management experience and/or course certifications
shall be an asset
