a world leader in its field, our client offers a spectrum of structural
engineering consulting services. As part of the Building Structures team, this
role covers a broad range of skills relating to structural engineering. In
particular, the focus of the structural engineer is to undertake design and
consulting services within the Buildings Group and related areas in order to
enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise.

Responsibilities/ Accountabilities:

• You will be required to carry out analysis/configurations of the structural
components of a building.
• You will be required to effectively carry out detailed consideration of
suitable materials.
• You will be required to carry out analysis of structural integrity.
• You will be responsible for the preparation of 2D and 3D drawings and plans.
• You will carry out preparation of cost estimates.
• You will demonstrate strong design ability and engineering skills and
knowledge.
• You will assist in the preparation and delivery of detailed tender
submissions and presentations.
• You will work under minimal supervision within a defined area of
responsibility. This may include being responsible for specific parts of an
external design project;
• You will be responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own and
others work. Furthermore, you may be responsible for the development of others
through providing guidance, training and feedback;
• Your work will encompass authoring non-standard letters, reports and other
documentation;
• You will represent your team or group at external meetings and you may be
involved in developing events, activities and internal projects of some
complexity.

Skills & experience
Technical Skills and Qualifications;

• Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering;
• Substantial knowledge and consulting and technical experience in building
structures engineering and related areas
• Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or
significant credit towards eligibility for membership;
• Current track record in structural design and up to date experience of
quality assurance standard;
• Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of
practice, and guidelines – and related procedures including OH&S

non-technical environments;
• Effective written communication and report writing skills;
• Ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of
