The
Long Point World Biosphere Foundation, in cooperation with other agencies and
organizations, has received funding to: 1. Advance collaboration between
organizations, agencies and private landowners to define current and emerging
ecosystem stresses, and support the implementation of innovative, holistic and
proven strategies to restore ecosystems; 2. Share current ecosystem research,
monitoring, management, and restoration practices with the broader conservation
practitioner community and public; and 3. Assemble historic and current
ecosystem information, including academic research papers, grey literature, and
case studies in a searchable web based digital library.

This
position will require a dynamic individual who is well organized and an
enthusiastic self-starter. This will be a two-year, full-time, contract
position based in Norfolk County, Ontario. The Project Manager will be
responsible for liaising with Long Point area conservation groups and
stakeholders, organizing community workshops and forums, synthesizing workshop
results, literature reviews, coordinating the development of a searchable web
based digital library, and ensuring the project is completed on time and within
budget. Assigned tasks will include:

and chairing meetings - Conducting
interviews with project partners to determine ecosystem stressors - Liaising
with project partners to identify and catalogue research papers - Updating
the annotated bibliography for Long Point, Lake Erie - Working
with web designers to develop an online digital library - Preparing
communications material - Encouraging
new partnerships and landscape level project planning - Others

Qualifications:

- University
degree in environment and resource science/studies, or another applicable
field - Experience
leading diverse teams towards an identified end goal or to achieve
consensus - Excellent
communication skills in written and spoken English - Knowledge
of and interest in ecosystem management and restoration - Possess
a valid Ontario Class-G driver’s license

hours will total 35 to 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday inclusive,
with the additional requirement of evening meetings and occasional work on
