The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic business environment,
assisting customers and stakeholders within Council and the broader community.
The position of Project Officer – Plant System primary role is to develop and
implement the ‘Plant/Fleet Management’ sub module of Council’s Authority enterprise
system.
Key responsibilities will include:
• Contributing to improved productivity and outcomes through actively promoting
and instilling Council’s principals of:
o Quality in asset management and service delivery;
o Safety of teams and communities;
o Environmental management of natural and built environment; and
o Affordability for current and future communities.
• Improving Council’s processes and procedures through continuous monitoring
and review and participation in peer discussions and analysis.
• Development of a complete and accurate register of Council’s Plant.
• Enabling system to:
o capture all expenditure and depreciation of Council’s Plant.
o inform on utilisation of Plant.
o ensure full cost recovery.
o manage scheduled maintenance program.
o Integrate system capacity to generate reports associated with plant costs,
availability and utilisation.
• Ensuring sub-module is developed in accord with all other Authority modules.
• Liaising with Plant Coordinators and Maintainers to ensure the Plant Module
is as user friendly as practicable.
The Project Officer – Plant System reports to the Manager – Resource
Coordination and assists the Resource Coordination Department by assisting with
and delivering relevant KPI’s including:
• Time taken to complete priority tasks.
• Adherence to accepted Industry Standards, Quality Assurance Standards,
Workplace Health & Safety Act, legislative requirements and Council
policies, procedures and Local Laws.
• Participation in work unit discussions and recommendations regarding
improvements for effective and efficiency of work unit tasks.
• Customer service in line with Council’s Customer Service Charter.
• Work program delivery.
Key Selection Criteria – The successful applicant will have:
• Proven ability conducting detailed auditing and analysis to develop systems,
processes and procedures based on database functions in a Plant and maintenance
workshop function.
• Demonstrated ability to instruct peer groups on developed systems and
processes.
• Demonstrated ability for accurate data entry.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
• The ability to work cross-functionally and think both critically and
strategically.
• Capacity to engage base level end users to streamline data collection and
system usage.
• Proficient computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office Suite
(Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• A current Queensland C (car) class driver licence.
• A current General Construction Induction (white) Card.
• Desirable – A bachelor degree or equivalent in Commerce/Business
Administration, Engineering or Computer Science.
• Desirable – Prior experience/knowledge of Authority system or a similar
organisational management software package.
