Advocacy and Community Mobilisation Coordinator –
I-TECH- Malawi
Serves as a technical resource on demand creation, She/he will be responsible
to plan and lead the implementation of coordinated advocacy, community
mobilisation and behaviour change activities within Lilongwe District.
She/he will work in collaboration with the DHO te
am and serves as a link with
service delivery
Provides leadership in planning and implementation of advocacy and community
mobilisation strategies, Maps out population within outreach catchment sites to
determine the number of eligible clients, Trans and mentors staff involved in
community mobilisation, Engages with community leaders to build their capacity
to take lead in mobilising community members for VMMC, Facilitates the
development and distribution of targeted IEC messages, Monitors the
effectiveness of IEC messages and takes remedial measures, works in close
liaison with the District Health Promotion Officer at the District Health
Office in carrying out advocacy and community mobilisation activities,
Identifies and builds strong linkages with influential people including
traditional leaders in the communities within implementation sites, Ensures
documentation and publication of program achievements and best practices,
Supervises community mobilisers and monitors implementation community
mobilisation activities, Serve as advocacy and community mobilisation technical
resource for I-TECH
Bachelors Degree in Social Science or other related disciplines, 3 years
experience in advocacy and community mobilisation, At least 2 yrs experience in
a supervisory position, Experience in advocacy and community mobilisation in a
health related field is an added advantage, Proactive, energetic, hard working
and attention to detail, Strong familiarity with the dynamics of Malawian
culture as it related to VMMC, Team player with good interpersonal skills,
Proficient in English and strong oral and written communication, Proficient in
Chichewa and strong oral and written communication, Ability to effectively work
independently
