Internal capacity
building for UBALE staff and structures from dedicated gender technical staff,
Key gender behaviours and messages integrated into the program’s SBCC strategy
and all training modules, Male and female Gender Champions promote gender
equity and women’s empowerment in target communities, M&E, accoun
tability,
and learning (MEAL) systems support, gender transformation potential and
monitor against harm and risk
A Bachelors Degree
(or equivalent in yrs of experience) in Gender Studies or other social sciences
(Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies or Political Sceinces0, those
with Masters will have an added advantage, At least 5 yrs of management level experience
in the design, planning, implementation and monitoring of gender equitable
programs in food security or related technical area, At least 3 yrs experience
in gender-related staff and institutional capacity building, Proven experience
with USAID and other donor-funded programs involving complex and multiple
partnerships and stakeholders including govt, civil society and community-based
structures, prior Title II or similar program experience in a comparable role
will be a big plus, Good understanding of gender equality and women’s
empowerment issues in Malawi including knowledge of govt policies and strategic
objectives, excellent, applied knowledge of the rights-based approach and
principles of gender-transformative programming, Excellent planning and time
management skills/multi-tasking, Ability to manage multiple and complex
relationships with project team members and stakeholders at all levels/strong
leadership skills, Excellent facilitation, presentation and communication
skills in English and Chichewa, Very good working knowledge of common office
software packages e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
