landscaping company that designs, installs, and maintains edible
gardens in homes, businesses, schools and other institutions

POSITION: LANDSCAPER, LEAD INSTALLER, short-term seasonal contract
with the possibility of full time.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The primary responsibilities of the lead installer are to assemble and
install BUFCO designed cedar raised garden beds, to supervise a small
crew and to provide expert, knowledgeable and courteous service to our
clients.
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
• Significant hands on experience landscaping including grading and
turf/sod removal/laying. Hardscaping experience a strong asset.
• Able to work confidently, quickly, safely, and accurately with a
wide variety of hand held and table top power tools.
• Broad knowledge of various wood working techniques and tools
• Experience installing and maintaining surface irrigation systems
including programmable timers and soaker hoses; familiar with
in-ground irrigation systems in order to execute repairs of damaged
lines/heads
• Strong aesthetic sensibility that can be applied to the installation
of a garden
• Knowledge of plant material, especially edible plants, and what
various plants require to thrive is a significant asset
• A strong communicator with excellent client services skills. Able to
provide professional and insightful advice in a respectful and
knowledgeable manner.
• Able to lead and motivate a team of labourers on a job site in order
to maximize efficiency and minimize risk
• Practical knowledge of sun paths; ability to assess sun exposure in a garden
• Able to establish and maintain a safe working environment
• Solution oriented thinker, a creative problem solver who can think
on their feet.
• Physically fit, with a positive metal attitude; must enjoy working
outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be reliable and punctual
• A minimum of a full G drivers license with a maintained, clean driving
record.
• Photography and writing skills are assets
• Experience driving a truck with trailer, cube van, panel van.
Hourly rate: $18-$20 depending on experience
