collaboration with governments, nongovernmental organizations, social
investors, and farmer organizations.

Title: Director of Finance
and Administration
Reporting Unit: Country Director,
CDI Rwanda
Location: Kigali, Rwanda
Travel: Limited 
Position Description: 
The purpose of this position is to
manage all financial activities of CDI Rwanda, including the Smallholder
Outreach Program (SHOP), Program Management, Commercial Farming, and any other
new programs. The Director will supervise Finance Managers supporting
individual programs, as well as all office staff. This position is responsible
for formulation and/or enforcement of all Clinton Foundation/CDI policies and
procedures, including hiring process, procurement guidelines, timely reporting
to Foundation finance staff as well as grantors, and adhering to budgets rules
and compliance. This position will play a key role in formulating and enforcing
financial management, administration and HR policy. The DFA will provide
critical financial insight and strategic support to the Country Director,
Director of Business Development, and HQ Finance Operations as the organization
continues to grow and evolve.
Required Skills & Experience:
Education
  • Minimum:
    BA/BS or equivalent in accounting or relevant field, or BA/BS with
    relevant experience
  • Preferred:
    Master’s degree or CPA
Work Experience
  • Minimum:
    3-5 years of donor and project management experience with non-profits or
    in a similar position
  • Preferred:
    experience with an international non-profit/NGO and working in a
    developing country context and experience with managing grants
Specialized Knowledge
  • Demonstrated
    experience in forecasting and budget management;
  • Donor
    development grant writing, proposal and/or report writing experience;
  • Experience
    in financial management and budgeting: strong familiarity with financial
    systems including, but not limited to budget preparation and analysis,
    accounting, financial reporting preparation and presentation, expense
    recording and reporting; and,
  • Ability
    to translate technical financial data into informative reports;
Skills
  • Demonstrated
    experience and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles,
    financial reporting, accounting systems, and budget development and
    administration is required
  • Ability
    to work independently, keep projects moving and adhere to deadlines;
  • Must
    be self-motivated, organized, and flexible and have an ability to
    prioritize workload;
  • Experience
    or a keen interest in natural resource management; and,
  • Expertise
    with Microsoft Office and general ledger software.
