Programme Manager –
Temwa – Sustainable Community Development

A Bachelors Degree
in Development Studies or related degree and/or (relevant experience will be
considered, Demonstrable understanding and experience of management of
Sustainable Development projects (Agriculture, Forestry, Education and Health0,
Minimum of 5 yrs relevant work experience, Experience of project reporting to
international donors, Familiarity with compliance systems (e.g. project donor requirements),
experience of providing Human Resource support to an organization,

Strong
communication skills, with excellent written and spoken English, Chichewa and
Tumbuka, Confident and proficient in the use of MS office (i..e Word, Excel,
outlook, Power point etc), Ability to establish strong working relationships
with colleagues from different functions and cultures, Experience of a flexible
approach to managing and prioritizing a high workload and multiple tasks

Experience at
developing and implementing policies and procedures, Experience of working with
an organisation from start up, Knowledge and understanding of Malawian labour
law

Fundraising
and Donor Relations

– Work closely with the Programme Director to ensure submission of timely and
quality proposals, Act as Temwa focal point with international and local donors
and ensure a strong understanding of donor priorities and initiatives, Together
with Programme Director and other mangers, write technical proposals which
sell, Produce quality and timely narrative reports for various stakeholders

Operations
Management

– Work closely with the Programme Director to ensure compliance with country
laws and requirements, Enhance coordination, teamwork, and development between
senior management and project staff to ensure quality of program delivery, Work
closely with the Programme Director and senior management team to carry out the
strategic version and plan for the organisation, Maintain and expand
participation with govt of Malawi, local government, chiefs, other local
stakeholders like VDCs and ADCs, relevant policy bodies and key donors in and
outside Malawi

Programme
Development

Carry out program strategies in accordance with Temwa’s missions and 10 yr
strategic plan, Provide overall management, monitoring and evaluation of all
programs, including contributing towards strengthening systems and standards
for assessment working closely with the Communications Manager, Ensure all
program staff are meeting individual project objectives and goals, submit
timely and comprehensive monthly program and donor reports for review and
approval, Coordinate the technical components of plans, proposals, MoUs and
budgets for new projects

Staff
Development and Management

Develop and nurture a positive work environment for ll staff and volunteer
working with Temwa to ensure professionalism among peers and beneficiaries,
Support program staff technically and mentor projects officers, develop and
manage relevant staff development processes, Monitor staff performance, conduct
one s to one supervision as well as appraisals for all staff that you manage,
Lead technical capacity building of program staff and local partners like ADCs,
CBOs and local district council staff, This includes resourcing as the internal
specialist during training of staff, Liaise with key staff to discuss and plan
program objectives and work activity plans
