The Arctic Chalet is a beautifully landscaped eco-friendly,
non-smoking tourist establishment located in the Canadian Arctic on
the outskirts of Inuvik, Northwest Territories. We provide beautiful
cabin accommodations and adventure tours above the Arctic circle.

We are offering a full-time job opportunity for someone who is strong
and physically fit, is ambitious and has some practical skills that
would be useful in helping us to maintain and run our tourism
business. We need someone who is mature and responsible, who can be a
team leader and take pride in a job well done. This contract is for 1
year with the option to extend one more year.

Duties include various cleaning jobs, hauling water for the property,
snow shovelling in winter, cutting firewood with a chainsaw and doing
a variety of duties around the yard. This person must also be capable
of handling and caring for 38 sled dogs and other boarding dogs.

We require our staff to be clean, neat and tidy in appearance to meet
the company standard and must also be health-conscious,
non-smoking/drinking and drug-free. Employees must be good team
players, have a friendly personality and radiate a positive attitude.
A valid Canadian work permit & driver’s licence is required.

Wage is $1200 per month before taxes. Benefits include free housing
and all utilities, limited use of wireless internet, access to our
laundry facility and transportation on a weekly basis to town for
shopping (3 km from the Arctic Chalet). Staff members purchase their
own food and cook for themselves.

Employees have access to hiking/ski trails and in summer have the free
use of a canoe for paddling or fishing on the lake. Other benefits
include helping to train the dog teams with ATV four-wheelers 4-5
times a week. There are also opportunities to participate in some of
our adventure tours and to travel to some of the Arctic communities in
our area.
