EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Theatre Operations Supervisor
(Gravenhurst Opera House) Permanent, Full-Time (Management Non-Union) Position

60,624 – $68,468) (This position
is pending budget approval) Known as the “Gateway to Muskoka”, the Town of
Gravenhurst is a progressive growing urban and rural municipality located in
the District Municipality of Muskoka, home to 11,000 or more permanent
year-round residents and a seasonal population of equal size. Gravenhurst

leisure, tourism, culinary, culture, heritage, arts, sights, sounds and
attractions, making it a great place to live, work and play! We are seeking a
motivated individual with expertise in Theatre management, superior leadership,
communication, analytical, report writing, customer service skills and
political intuition, who works well in an ever-changing environment. We offer a
competitive salary range ($60,624 – $68,468 based on 35 hrs/wk) and a
comprehensive employee benefit plan for this position. Reporting to the Manager
of Arts & Culture, the Theatre Operations Supervisor will oversee all
operations involving the Gravenhurst Opera House, including but not limited to
increasing the use of and identification throughout Muskoka as an arts,
cultural and entertainment centre.
 

Requirements:

Desired Qualifications: 1.Post Secondary Diploma in Theatre
Management, or related discipline; 2.Extensive experience in Theatre
Management, or other theatre related discipline together with a minimum of five
years’ of significant involvement in programming production combined with
experience in a municipal arts and culture environment. 3.Thorough working
knowledge of facilities and maintenance management, program design concepts and
marketing and promotions strategies, provincial grant processes, applicable
legislative/regulatory standards, community development techniques, and local
government functions/responsibilities. 4.Excellent conceptual, interpersonal,
project/time management, analytical, communication, presentation, report writing,
problem-solving, delegation, facilitation, negotiation, and staff leadership
and supervisory skills. 5.Ability to build strong and enthusiastic staff teams
and external alliances/partnerships, to align departmental programs/services
with divisional and corporate goals/objectives. 6.Thorough working knowledge of
the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Construction/other regulations,
7.Computer literacy utilizing word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation and
database software and the Internet. 8.Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License,
in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business. 9.Ability
to work flexible hours; Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings
or other events as required.
