Featuring over 225,000 square feet of multiple
performance venues, studio spaces and exhibition display areas its three
theatres host a range of arts, cultural and entertainment events. The
Centre’s seven craft/arts studios house professional Resident Artists and also
feature dozens of educational classes for all ages. The meeting and
conference rooms are utilized by community organizations and businesses for a
variety of events, from church services, to luncheon meetings, to international
video conference business meetings. These are complemented by a
restaurant and catering services.

Job Description
The
Centre is seeking a creative, flexible, and talented individual to coordinate
the Centre’s summer outreach events at local festivals and community
venues. This position will work as part of the Studio Arts, Education and
Outreach team to oversee and coordinate these activities.

Coordinate
and administer the daily operations of summer outreach events and festivals;
hire, train and supervise summer staff; liaise with venue supervisors and
festival coordinators to organize event logistics; interview, train and
supervise youth volunteers; order, inventory, monitor and maintain all
program supplies and materials; monitor and valuate programs to ensure
customer satisfaction and safety standards are met; prepare, monitor and
operate within an approved project budget, work with Marketing staff to
promote events and prepare marketing materials; document and evaluate programs
to ensure quality and safety standards are met; and perform other duties
as assigned.

This is a contract position requiring the successful candidate to work a
variable schedule including evening and weekends based on the event and
festival schedule.
Requirements:
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
• University degree or College diploma in Arts Education, Arts Administration
or a related discipline; or currently enrolled ina related program
• 1 to 2 years’ prior experience working in an arts educational institution or
related cultural or educational institution
• Experience developing, delivering and coordinating programming for children,
adults or the general public and event planning
• Experience working with instructors, practicing artists and the general
public
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational, time-management, reporting, and problem solving
skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, attuned to the human
relations of working in a team environment
• Must be flexible, capable of multi-tasking and problem solving
• Proficient in Word and Excel, experience working with databases is an asset
• Experience selecting and coordinating youth volunteers
• Experience hiring and overseeing part-time staff
• Have a valid Driver’s Licence and capable/comfortable driving a panel van
• First Aid, CPR and WHIMIS Training are an asset
