Marketing Coordinator Job Description

The Riverwood Conservancy (TRC) is looking for a Marketing Coordinator
for a 4 days-per-week, maternity leave contract position. The
candidate recognizes the flexible start time of the end of March 2015,
and end date April 2016. Reporting to the Executive Director, the
Marketing Coordinator (MC) plans, develops, coordinates and implements
all matters related to marketing, marketing plans and public
communication strategies for TRC programs (Education, Stewardship,
Gardening and Volunteer), corporate TRC and special events.

A lead member of the Marketing Committee, the MC trains volunteers to
assist in marketing initiatives. The MC coordinates marketing
initiatives, as needed with TRC partners, including the City of
Mississauga, Credit Valley Conservation and Visual Arts Mississauga.

Specific responsibilities
• Design, coordinate and produce all marketing and public communications;
• Establish marketing plans for programs and services by coordinating
with appropriate staff and committees and meet deadlines as needed;
• Write media releases; coordinate production of newsletter Samara;
write and distribute a monthly e- newsletter and seasonal Calendar of
Events, with information provided by staff;
• Coordinate information and manage updates for website;
• Coordinate and manage social media pages including Facebook, twitter, other;
• Coordinate marketing initiatives for fund development and work with
development staff as needed;
• Coordinate production of brochures and print materials;
• Coordinate, mentor as needed and supervise volunteers to provide assistance;
• Provide event information to the City of Mississauga for their digital signs;
• Participate on and provide leadership to the Marketing Committee;
• Participate on Special Events Committee; coordinate production of
special event materials;
• Build awareness for the group photography program; liaise with the
City of Mississauga Customer Service Office, as needed;
• Increase awareness of Riverwood and TRC programs and services;
• Establish plans to increase sales of Wildflowers of Riverwood and
other products;
• Monitor the success of marketing initiatives; establish and evaluate
ways to improve marketability and public awareness of programs and
products;
• Assist to manage the TRC archive of images;
• Present marketing ideas and business case opportunities to senior management;
• Perform other duties as discussed and agreed upon.

Qualifications
• five (5) years proven experience in marketing and communications;
• excellent verbal and written skills; excellent editing skills;
• demonstrated organizational and time management skills, ability to
multi-task and meet overlapping deadlines;
• demonstrated computer skills, including working knowledge (ideally)
of Adobe Design Suite CS6 including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign,
website Content Management System (CMS) Joomla and social media pages
including Facebook, twitter;
• experience working with volunteers is an asset;
• ability to make the most of limited budgets; some experience working
with the charitable sector is an asset;
