Market Access Initiatives that provide travel and market development support to
filmmakers, producers and writers at national and international industry trade
events. In 2012-2013, this included Realscreen Washington, HOTDOCS, the Cannes
Film Festival and Market, the Banff World Media Festival, the Toronto
International Film Festival, AFM, Berlinale, MIPTV and others.
Business
Development Initiatives that put Manitoba production companies in meetings with
co-production partners, industry stakeholders and decision-makers through
conferences and speaker series that include one-on-one business meetings in
Manitoba and elsewhere.
Promotion
of the Manitoba Media Production Industry and our members achievements through
our websites, social media, an industry guide, online directory and
partnerships with Manitoba Film & Music at international and national festivals
and markets.
Communicating
Industry Information to identify business trends and opportunities in terms of
regulatory issues, technology, audience behaviour, production, financing,
marketing and distribution.
Providing
a Voice for the Manitoba Industry to ensure that industry trends and regulatory
affairs are analyzed and considered from the perspective of Manitoba media
production professionals. Nationally, On Screen Manitoba provides a voice for
regional creators and producers. Provincially, it interprets industry trends
and advocates for ongoing production incentives and support that are adapted to
current challenges and opportunities.

industries with a knowledge of English and French language markets in Canada and
elsewhere, you may be interested in joining a small dynamic team delivering an
international market access and business development initiative in Winnipeg,
Canada.
On
Screen Manitoba, in partnership with New Media Manitoba, is leading an
innovative 30-month project to raise the profile of the Manitoba screen-based
media production sector nationally and internationally. We are seeking
experienced individuals, comfortable in a fast-paced bilingual environment, for
the positions of Business Development Manager,  Marketing Manager, Project
Manager and Interprovincial Initiatives Coordinator.

Job
Summary
The Marketing Manager for the Media Exchange Project will work with ease in
both English and French to explore and implement ways of enhancing the national
and international profile of the Manitoba linear and interactive media
production industry generally and the Prairies as a whole in regard to joint
market initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director of On Screen Manitoba,
they will work in collaboration with existing communications, marketing and
industry services staff at OSM and partner organizations as well as the MEP
Business Development Manager.

Accountabilities:
Develop
and execute strategic marketing plans.
Manage budgets.
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide support for MEP events.
Objectives:
Nurture
and enrich all external perceptions of the Media Exchange Project, On Screen
Manitoba and its partners in MEP through promotions online and in print.
Deepen relationships with all media to ensure the most effective messaging and
positioning of the Media Exchange Project.
Prepare and manage a marketing and media plan (including indicators of success)
and all related budgets. Produce monthly reports to track and communicate plans
and results.
Monitor and analyze other market and business development offerings to identify
and implement partnership opportunities.
Ensure that all partnership activity is clearly communicated internally and
externally.
Work with other team members to coordinate all aspects of partnership relations
including year round communication, agreements, recognition and reporting.
Provide support for event planning.


 

Requirements:

Qualifications:
A
University degree in a related field with knowledge of a wide range of
marketing and communications techniques and concepts and 5+ years in a
marketing role.
Superb communication, verbal, written and editorial skills in both official
languages.
Demonstrated success working collaboratively with a diverse team that includes
multiple partners and requires communication in both official languages.
Ability to respond well to pressure in a deadline driven environment.
Out-of-the-box, creative thinker with outstanding troubleshooting, analytical
and problem-solving abilities.
Effective organization skills and methodologies with demonstrated ability to
work within a budget.
Comprehensive understanding of the digital marketing landscape and proven track
record driving performance of digital marketing strategies, including social
media.
Experience in the non-profit sector and proven ability to negotiate contracts
and sponsorship agreements with vendors and partners.
Experience in the film/television and/or interactive media production
industries an asset. Occasional overtime will be required to meet project
deadlines, some limited travel may be required.
