Expanding aquaponics grower located in beautiful Victoria BC, Canada
looking for 1-2 operating partners.
Ideally suited for an ent
repreneurial oriented individual, with a
background in hydroponic growing, or 3 years professional / apprentice
soil farmer.
Skills Required/Preferred
• Plant biology / Health / Nutrition / Propagation
• Greenhouse Management
• Organic Pest Management Practices
• Freshwater fish/aquaculture (ideal, not mandatory)
• Mechanical Aptitude / Math Skills
• Technically literate (PC / Spreadsheets / Database applications)
• Inquisitive and innovative
• Ability to plan and work collaboratively
• Ability to lift up to 60Lbs
• Personal transportation (not on public transit serviced area)
• Bonus for background in sales and exceptional customer service.
As an operating partner, you will work collaboratively on some
projects such as systems design/enhancement and infrastructure
building and on other projects. We will identify individual strengths
and focus on specific individual projects/tasks. There are 2 locations
to manage. One in the Oak Bay border area of Victoria and our new
(main) location located in the Blenkinsop Valley.
We have developed an extensive business plan and have implemented
successfully the initial stages of our business launch. As we enter
our planned second stage, it’s time to bring on new team members.
Specific and confidential details will be discussed with final
potential applicants.
Time Commitment: (6-12 hours per week) 3 Days per week. 2-4 Hours per day
Wage: Profit Share based. (have no expectations of earning a living
wage in year one, you must have other means of support)
Investment: Although there will be no capital investment required
(covered by existing owners), there will be a shared operational
expense model (as with shared profit). Although negotiable, interested
parties will need to have access to funds to cover a portion of
operating expenses. Additionally, there will be considerable
individual time spent each week outside the work space on continued
research and education on current and emerging practices and
techniques in the aqua/hydro growing industry.
