called Adopt a Village. Domestically, we offer innovative programs that educate,
engage and empower youth to become agents of change.

Free The Children seeks a driven and experienced Corporate Engagement and Grants
Coordinator
who will report directly to the Director of
Business Development. The ideal candidate will be a young professional with
strong writing skills and who is passionate about making a difference in the
world. We are looking for someone who is creative, a quick-learner, and
results-driven, to join our fast-paced and exciting team.

A minimum two-year commitment is
required and there are two streams of compensation for our entry level
coordinator roles:

  • Housing option (available only in Vancouver and Toronto)
  • Non-housing option

The Housing option
compensation offers a base salary

  • Year 1: $20,000 plus shared accommodation included
  • Year 2: $22,000 plus shared accommodation included

The Non-Housing option compensation offers
a base salary

  • Year 1: $27, 500
  • Year 2: $29, 500

There is a three (3) month
probationary period, upon reaching the three (3) month period, all staff
members are offered a health plan including dental and Employee Assistant
Program. The position is based out of Free The Children’s International office
in Toronto (233 Carlton Street). This role is perfect for a new graduate who is
looking to grow and work hard for two years. You love big goals and surpassing
expectations.

Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Develop highly customized corporate proposals to support
    both North American and International projects and funding opportunities.
  • Identify and write government grant applications at
    Municipal, Provincial and National levels of government.
  • Develop multi-faceted partnership proposals for new
    business, foundation, and individual high-net-worth donors.
  • Identify and develop creative sponsorship and marketing
    activations for prospective funders.
  • Communicate with implementing teams to gather relevant
    information about programs and impacts to be able to address the interests
    of prospects in highly customized proposals.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including
    Associate Director Corporate Engagement and Grants, Director, Corporate
    Engagement and Grants, Head, Global Business Development, Regional Office
    Directors, and the organization’s founders to create customised proposals
    for new partnership opportunities.

Research

  • Identify potential opportunities for funding based on
    alignment with Free The Children’s priority funding needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive research of prospective funder
    interests and objectives.

General and
administrative

  • Update status of proposals and leads.

Reporting and
Relationships:

Associate Director of
Corporate Engagement and Grants (CEG)/ CEG Manager:

  • Collaboration with the Associate Director CEG and CEG
    Manager is required on the creation and delivery of prospect proposals and
    lead generation and management.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Marketing,
    International Development or other related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills in
    all internal and external relations.
  • Outstanding work ethic and initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage
    multiple responsibilities within tight deadlines.
  • Quick learner with a demonstrated ability to think
    strategically and creatively when developing partnership opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and
    within a team setting.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, flexible and
    enthusiastic.
  • Advanced writing skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate and detailed files,
    databases and work logs.
  • Knowledge of government granting requirements would be
    an asset.
  • Excellent comprehension and ease with the application of
    Microsoft Office programs, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Knowledge of
    InDesign and Photoshop an asset.
