Job Description
The Senior Account Manager
will take a leadership role in a fast-growing Toronto based PR agency. In this
role, you will provide ongoing support for senior management while managing and
mentoring junior staff. Reporting to the Vice President, you will effectively
manage your accounts and ensure work is being completed in an efficient manner.
You will also assist in the development of new business presentations and
pitches.
Develop and manage communications plans and strategies for ongoing clients and
new projects
Gather, research and prepare communications material for internal and external
audiences
Arrange interview, media events and news conferences
Setting measurable goals and objectives, managing timelines, external and
internal resources and evaluating results
Develop and retain media relationships and create interest in client stories,
identify distribution channels, coordinate distribution
Oversee media relations activities for account team, edit media materials,
respond to media inquiries, prepare speaking notes and media reports
Foster, maintain and grow relationships with clients and provide timely updates
and progress reports
Counsel clients on best practices and approaches, discuss business models and
provide guidance on an ongoing basis
Present concepts, new business pitches or programs and provide media and
message training for clients
Create, analyze and manage budgets and balance sheets
Show team leadership with junior staff, mentoring, delegating and helping them
to grow
Qualification
requirements
Graduate of communications, journalism, marketing or public relations program
Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese
Technology sector experience
Global PR experience in particular Asia Pacific
8 – 10 years agency experience
Self-motivated
Strong social/digital media acumen and interest
Proven organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
Interest in design, architecture and/or the arts
