Coordinator – Malawi Mangoes – re advertisement
Reporting directly to the Fruit Production Manager – Outreach
Focal point of all the company’s community work and integral in conducting
sensitization meetings, farmer regis
tration, top-working, post graft management
and offering technical expertise for new planting to achieve the objective of
producing high quality fruits in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of the
processing facility and customers
Training and Development – Conduct extension training to communities and
smallholder farmers
Quality – Inspect the quality of scions, ensure compliance to the set standards
on grafting, check size of seedlings, inspecting for diseases and pests, and
ensure good pre and post-harvest management
Logistics – Delivery of grafting materials and chainsaw accessories to
Community Field Assistants and ensure community meetings are organised and
coordinated as per approved work plans
Purchasing – Purchasing mango seeds for rootstock production, buying fruits
from registered farmers
Processes – Produce workplans for community based fruit farming activities,
receiving and recording scions, issuing receipts to farmers and record
recipients
Applicants should have a minimum of a Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture
and at least 2 yrs of experience in developing and supervising a team and
working with farmers, He or she should have excellent communication skills and
demonstrate the ability to build relationships with communities and others.
