JOB OPPORTUNITY
Vision for a Nation Foundation (VFAN) is a UK registered charity
that aims to support national health ministries in low-income and emerging
countries to build sustainable nationwide access to eye care and affordable
glasses. VFAN currently only works in Rwanda where we are supporting the
Government to develop a national primary eye care system at the request of the
country’s Ministry of Health (MoH).
VFAN is recruiting a Country
Director

who will assume responsibility for overseeing all
aspects of the programme.  The Country Director will supervise and manage
the Kigali office and staff, and ensure the successful implementation of the
programme, including the full integration of primary eye care services into the
nation’s health infrastructure and the execution of a nationwide awareness
raising campaign.  The Country Director will serve under the overall
guidance and supervision of VFAN’s Executive Director.

Summary of Key Functions:
1.      Strategic direction for the programme
2.      Country office management and
administration
3.      Lead financial planning and budgeting
process
4.      Strengthen monitoring and data collection
systems and procedures
5.      Monitor all nurse training and primary eye
care service delivery
6.      Oversee supply chain management
7.      Implement a national awareness raising
plan in coordination with the MoH
8.      Facilitate knowledge building and sharing
amongst staff
9.      Technical support for fundraising
applications and donor reporting
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Required:

BA in
a social science or arts / humanities
·        
Postgraduate
degree in public health, development or a related subject
·        
10
years of relevant experience working in public health, education and / or
development
·        
International
experience in different operating environments
·        
Demonstrated
leadership and management skills
·        
Organisational,
financial and planning skills
·        
Excellent
oral and written communications
·        
Fluency
in English required; proficiency in French preferred
