Malawi Mangoes (Operations) Limited (MM) is a unique
start-up dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of people in Malawi off
the back of a successful, commercially driven, profit making business. MM (Operations)
Limited has built a state of the art food processing factory in Salima, Malawi.
The company is a values based agro-processing business working closely with
local communities to grow and process fruit, within the requirements of the
Rainforest Alliance international sustainability standards.
Job opportunities have arisen and MM (Operations) Limited seeks to fill the
following vacancy of Electrical Technician

. Reports directly to the Engineering
Manager.

Role Purpose:
The setup of electrical equipment, machinery and electrical control systems,
circuitry and pneumatics. Electrical engineering activity associated with all
production, processing and energy related elements of the business.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
include: 

Data
and Information
– Accuracy, timeliness and completeness of data
gathered, recorded and reported, maintenance schedules and system machinery
data
Quality
– Ensure that machinery performs to manufacturer’s
specification
Processing
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring,
equipment and fixtures. Diagnose cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction
or failure of operational equipment and perform preventative and corrective
maintenance
Applicants should be qualified to Diploma Level in
Electrical Engineering or National Trade Test Certificate, Grade 1 and ideally
have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a factory as well as practical
exposure to different applications of electrical engineering, science and
technology. He/she should have undergone an apprenticeship program and have
experience working with electronics.
Those with experience working in a food processing
factory and renewable energy plants will have an added advantage. The candidate
should demonstrate the ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
