PRO-FEMMES/TWESE
HAMWE is an umbrella of Civil Society organizations working for women
promotion, peace and development. Currently, it has 61 member organizations.

PRO-FEMMES/TWESE
HAMWE is implementing a Project entitled
“Strengthening
the Economic Power of Women in the Informal Cross-Border Trade Sector in the
EAC”. Under the Project Extension phase the project will also cover the
borders with DR-Congo. The project is funded by Trade Mark East Africa (TMEA).
The
project mainly focuses on realizing the following key activities:
  • Baseline survey in partnership with
    International Alert on Regulatory and operational barriers to trade with
    the DRC;
  • Operationalize the national platforms
    for women informal cross-border traders;
  • Capacity Building of Women informal
    cross border traders (WICBTs);
  • Quarterly supportive Supervision/
    monitoring and technical assistance to WICBTs cooperatives;
  • Advocacy through Gender and thematic
    working groups with key national actors on EAC integration, trade and
    gender machineries;
  • Quarterly Sensitizations on
    integration opportunities, rights and obligation.
It
is in this regard that PRO-FEMMES/ TWESE HAMWE is looking for a suitable .
candidate to fill a position for a Project Coordinator.
Under
the supervision of Program Manager, the Project Coordinator will undertake the
following specific tasks;
  • Support PRO-FEMMES/TWESE HAMWE for
    the implementation of project activities;
  • Support monitoring, evaluation and
    reporting on project advancement;
  • Represent PRO-FEMMES/TWESE HAMWE in
    TMEA meetings and other relevant meetings related to the project;
  • Collaborate with a project focal
    point at TMEA and provide update to PRO-FEMMES management;
  • Collaborate with key partners of the
    project;
  • Design other project proposals for
    submission to potential donors; advised by the supervisors at
    PROFEMMES/TWESE HAMWE.
DESIRED COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Economics,
    Business Administration, Management, Social sciences with a focus on
    gender or any other related fields;
  • Holders of master’s degree in
    relevant field are preferable for the prospective candidate;
  • At least three years progressive
    experience in trade specifically related to gender issues;
  • Strong understanding of the East
    African Community Integration;
  • Strong experience and knowledge of
    civil society in Rwanda;
  • Experience and knowledge of national
    and regional issues relevant to trade;
  • Experience in Networking, building
    coalitions, lobbying and advocacy especially for gender related issues;
  • Understanding of Human rights based
    approach;
  • Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda.
    Knowledge of French is an added advantage;
  • Excellent communicator orally and in
    writing;
  • Innovative, self —driven and team
    player;
  • Interpersonal skills with experience
    of working in multicultural contexts.
