Interpreters foster stewardship of the natura
l world through engaging,
informative, and interactive programs that connect adults and children
with Alberta’s landscape, biological and cultural diversity, and
recreational opportunities.
Depending on your strengths you could be involved in a variety of
programming such as environmental education, theatrical presentations,
recreational activity instruction, informal talks, information
delivery, or guided hikes and tours.

Minimum Qualifications:
Enrolled in 1st year post secondary education in sciences, education,
communications, history, or performing arts. Equivalences will be
considered.
The following are considered assets and should be highlighted in your resume:
Written and verbal communications, audience engagement, teaching,
acting, singing, knowledge of Alberta flora and fauna, or outdoor
recreational activities. Also any related interpretive work or
volunteer experience, your desire to learn and to share your
understanding and passion for the natural or cultural world with
others.
Successful applicants must have or obtain by May 1st,2015:
• Class 5 (or 4) driver’s licence
• Class 4 small bus licence (Dinosaur, Cypress Hills and Writing-on-Stone)
• Defensive Driving Certificate
• Current Driver’s Abstract
• Current Standard First Aid Certificate
• A current criminal records check (*Must be received by March 15th)

Job Type: Seasonal Interpreter

Training workshop May 5 – 7
Wage: $20.67 to $36.49 / hour
(Varies with specific responsibilities, location & experience)
(plus 11% in lieu of benefits)
